Easter weekend on Bald Head Island will be hopping with fun activities for families, delicious dining options, and events supporting local nonprofits. Make your plans now to get in on the action!

Friday, April 7

From 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. or 1-2:30 p.m., the Bald Head Island Club is holding a craft workshop for kids ages 5-12 as a part of its “Easter Fest.” Later that afternoon, from 2-3 p.m., a Cornhole contest will take place on the multipurpose field in front of the Club. Sign up by emailing [email protected].

The Maritime Market is up to its old tricks again, hosting an Oyster Roast at the Forest Pavilion from 5-7 p.m. Count on the tiki torches being lit, the oysters being hot, and the music being live. Along with oysters, the menu includes steamed shrimp, pulled pork, smoked chicken, and more sides than you can imagine. If that’s not enough to tempt you, live Maine lobster is an add-on. Learn more and book your seats.

Saturday, April 8

Start your day off right by running or walking in the Bald Head Island Conservancy’s Turtle Trot 5K, which kicks off at 8:30 a.m. on their campus. Winners in each age bracket receive a sea turtle medal and bragging rights. All participants will get a T-shirt commemorating the event. Learn more and register.

Later that afternoon, from 1-4 p.m., stop by the Old Baldy Lighthouse grounds for a kickoff to their “Bring Home the Light” campus expansion fundraising campaign. A short film outlining the plans will premier and detailed plans will be unveiled. Complimentary soft drinks, beer and wine will be served during this relaxed meet & greet.

The Shoals Club rec team has a fun-filled day planned for “every bunny,” starting with an Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. (don’t forget your basket!) followed by Easter Tie Dye at 1 p.m. and an Easter Craft at 2 p.m. Cap off the day with a special Candy Land Party from 4-7 p.m.

Sunday, April 9

The Bald Head Island Chapel welcomes islanders and visitors to its Easter Services, held at 6:45 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Rev. Sam Kennedy will conduct all three non-denominational services and special musical guests are set to perform.

Bald Head Island Club holds a traditional Easter Egg Hunt on the multipurpose field in front of the Club at 10 a.m. for ages 5 & under, 10:30 a.m. for ages 6-9, and 11 a.m. for ages 10 & up. No reservations are required but be sure to bring your Easter basket!

Both the Bald Head Island Club and the Shoals Club are accepting reservations for Easter Brunch. Seatings are limited, so use your Club Now app or call the BHI Club at 910-457-7300 or the Shoals Club at 910-454-4888 to reserve your space.

We look forward to celebrating Easter with you on Bald Head Island!
