Halloween Happenings on Bald Head Island
Calling all ghosts and goblins—the days leading up to Halloween are action-packed on Bald Head Island, so mark your calendars!
Bald Head Bottle will host a special Halloween couples costume date night on Thursday, October 26th from 5-6:30 pm. Couples in costume will receive a prize for best couple’s costume. Enjoy special wine cocktails, beer, and snacks.
The Public Service Auxiliary's annual Chili Supper fundraiser will take place on Friday, October 27 from 4-7 pm. In addition to the terrific chili selections, a silent auction will feature artwork, clothing and children's items.
Also on Friday, October 27, Island Retreat Spa & Salon will host their fifth annual Witches Night Out. Enjoy a magical evening with Halloween-themed tunes on the porch, costumes, cocktails and a few special guests. Your event ticket includes one of the Practically Magic Mini Treatments including Demon-Casting Chair Massage, Witch Hair Removal (lip or chin), or Timely Tarot Reading. Each attendee will also receive a Spa Trick-or-Treat Bag loaded with goodies and all retail products will be 15% off during the event.
Salty Paws is hosting a spooktacular Halloween Pet Parade on Friday, October 27 at 4 pm. Dress your pet (and yourself) in your best spooky costumes.
The Shoals Club is hosting a Heebee Jeebee Jamboree on Friday, October 27 at 7:30 pm, starting with a pumpkin drop at 6:30 pm, followed by the stand-up comedy of Wolfgang Gohlke.
Saturday, October 28 kicks off with an island-wide Litter Sweep from 10 am-noon. Meet in front of Room Service (next to Maritime Market) at 10 am to pick up gloves, grabbers and litter bags and then set out to your designated spot. Water, fruit and treats will be provided. Prizes are awarded for finding the most unusual and interesting trash.
Island-wide Trick-or-Treating will take place later Saturday from 1-3 pm. Stop by the Maritime Market to pick up a map of participating locations.
What better way to spend Halloween than at the ever-popular Howl at the Moon Sunset/Moonrise Party? Gather at Beach Access 39 from 5-7 pm on Saturday, October 28. Peter the Piper will play spooky Celtic melodies on the bagpipe as the “blood” moon rises. BYOB and bring an appetizer to share.
Later Saturday evening, The BHI Club presents their annual Haunted Trail of Terror from 6:30-8:45 pm under Horizons, along with a Hocus Pocus Party on the Ocean Terrace from 7-9:45 pm. Reservations are not required for the Haunted Trail of Terror, but are needed for the Hocus Pocus party, so use your BHI Club app to reserve your place or contact the club at 910-457-7300.
Bald Head Island is known for family-friendly fun, so no matter what you add to your itinerary, it’ll be a Halloween to remember!
