Where do you prefer to vacation? According to recent Vacation Rental Industry stats, the beach is best for most travelers, with 74% of respondents preferring to spend their vacations on the coast. 83% simply prefer to be near water. If you are taking that trip you’ve been counting down to, you want to make the most of it! Bald Head Island has beaches, creeks, forests, hiking trails, a spa, you name it! Let’s break down why you’ll want to celebrate July 4th here on the island.

One of the most anticipated events of the year is our Old Baldy Foundation Fundraiser. Old Baldy is the oldest standing lighthouse in North Carolina. It’s 108 steps to the top for a fantastic panoramic view or the island. At 10am, our annual Golf Cart Parade will begin at Marina Park. Guests can join in on this beloved tradition by being a spectator or decorating their own golf cart for the parade. The categories to enter are Patriotic, Tacky Tourist, and Anything BHI. Sign up here to enter your golf cart.

Want to host a 4th of July bash at your Bald Head Island vacation rental? We have some patriotic recipes you will love! This Fruit Salsa is sure to be a hit for a side dish or appetizer. You can go here for a list of delicious recipes for an outdoor BBQ. If you want some kid-friendly “sparklers”, these Fruit Sparklers are fun and easy to make. Last but not least, you’ll need a refreshing cocktail. Friends will love this Star Spangled Spritzer to cool off on the big weekend.

When you aren’t having a blast at the Golf Cart Parade, you can rent a paddleboard and go out on the water. You can have bikes delivered and bike around the island. Order some favorite snacks from Maritime Market and have beach picnic. You can always enjoy your downtime, too and cozy up on the hammock of your rental home with a good book. We are definitely in the percentage that favors beach time so that’s where we will be this summer. Book your July 4th getaway today!
