Enjoy Bald Head Island Fishing
If you love fishing, then Bald Head Island, North Carolina is your kind of place, offering a wide range of surf fishing, in shore, and off shore fishing opportunities.
If you're interested in fishing offshore in the Gulf Stream, the island's Dockmaster can direct you to reputable guides and charter companies. Area guides are also very knowledgeable about the island's tidal creeks, which are ideal for fly fishing.
If you'd like to keep it simple, great surf fishing is available at the Point of Cape Fear. If you don't want to bring your own gear, the Dockmaster Store has a small selection of rods and reels, as does Island Hardware. You'll also find frozen bait available at the Dockmaster Store, or you can purchase a cast net and catch your own. For those who want to try their hand at crabbing, the Village Creek Access along Bald Head Creek is a great spot. You can try clamming along the sandbars at low tide by simply raking the soft sand and digging up the clams that lie just under the surface.
