What’s for Breakfast on Bald Head Island!
Your day to day starts with the sound of an alarm, jump out of bed into work attire and rush out the door with a piece of toast and half a cup of coffee if you’re lucky. Does this sound familiar? That’s why we love spending summers on Bald Head Island. The laid-back attitude of the island forces you to relax and enjoy the sites. It even encourages a fabulous breakfast. Here are some of our favorite breakfast spots on the island.
Island Times Café
Island Times Café is located at Deep Point Marina at Bald Head Island’s ferry terminal so you can stop in for some yummy goodness to start your day. The French Toast “Sammich” is absolutely delicious. Two pan fried eggs on French Toast with cheese and choice of bacon or sausage. They serve Omelets, Bagels, Biscuits, you name it. Another favorite is Moon over My Crabby. A homemade Crab Cake topped with an over easy egg on a toasted English Muffin. These dishes will definitely give you the energy you need to explore the island.
The Market Café
The Market Café serves breakfast daily from 8:00 to 11:00am. We love their mix and match approach allowing you to make your own perfect breakfast combo. What is my go-to breakfast combo? Scrambled Eggs, Country Ham and Stone-Ground Grits please. Hot coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice are always a great start to the morning.
Wrap Around Porch
No, it is not the name of a restaurant, although it would make a good one. One of our favorite Bald Head Island Breakfast is ordered to go and enjoyed on the wrap around porch of your vacation rental. Make a pot of fresh coffee in the kitchen and walk out to amazing views of the Atlantic as you munch on fresh fruit, bagels, and croissants. Pop open a bottle of champagne and top with a splash of orange juice, cranberry juice, or grapefruit juice to start your Bald Head Island Summer Vacation off right!
