Bald Head Island Tips for Moms
Family vacations can be the highlight of your year or just a lot of work for Moms. For many, it’s not that often that the whole family can get off work and school to get away. When you finally get a trip out of town, you’ll look for any way to make things go smoothly and keep the kids entertained. While on your Bald Head Island vacation, here are some tips to help make that happen.
Hungry kids? Take advantage of the kid’s meals available on Bald Head Island. Delphina Cantina offers quesadilla, sliders, and chicken tenders on their kid menu. Head to Sandpiper Coffee and Ice Cream to get milkshakes or waffle cones. Mike’s Bites is located at the Bald Head Island Conservancy campus and offers hot dogs, Italian ice, and more.
If you’re looking for a place to stay with plenty of room for the kids to have their own space, Bald Head Island vacation rentals have lots of options. My Three Dunes has 5 bedrooms with rooms split on multiple levels and a spacious deck and sunroom. Marsh Madness has 7 bedrooms as well as a media room and double crofter. Shifting Sands has 5 bedrooms and sleeps up to 18 with a detached crofter cottage. Stay in a luxury beach home with wrap-around decks and the kids can play for hours when they’re not at the beach.
When you don’t want to deal with all the sand (it’s rare, but it happens), take the kids to the pool! The Shoals Club pool is open until November and offers poolside food and drink service from Sandbar Grille. The Bald Head Island Club pool features a children’s slide and adjacent playground and volleyball court. Croquet and tennis are also available to reserve times and play. We love the beach but there’s much more to do on the island.
The kids will never get bored when there is so much to explore! The Bald Head Island Conservancy offers several programs and events for island visitors. Take advantage of tours or hikes and learn all about what makes Bald Head Island so unique. Crabbing, fishing, and kayaking are some of the excursions offered for kids and parents alike. Families also love exploring the island at night for BHI After Dark.
Families love Bald Head Island and that includes Moms. While the kids are busy having the time of their lives, pour a glass of wine and put your feet up. Relax and enjoy the charm of Bald Head Island. Take in a gorgeous sunset or wake up early for a sunrise. Bald Head Island can be your new favorite vacation destination with the family!
