Bald Head Island After Dark
There is so much to do on Bald Head Island when the sun is shining. Stroll 14 miles of pristine beaches, swim in the ocean, play a round of golf on the acclaimed seaside course, hike the maritime forest, ride bikes around the island or just kick back on the porch of a cottage overlooking the Atlantic with a good book. However, when the sun goes down the Island comes alive! Here’s some of our favorite things to do on Bald Head Island after dark.
Sunset Celebrations takes place every Monday night during summer from 5:30-9:00pm. Meet in the Riverside Adventure/ Delphina Courtyard. DJ Fray will be getting the party started along with Face Painting, Hula Hoop Contests and more! Continue at sunset to Beach Access #5 to find S'mores prepared over a bonfire. This free activity is full of nighttime fun!
The Ghost Walk takes place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night during summer beginning at 7:45pm. Prepare to be spooked as your guide lures you down shrouded paths revisiting 400 years of ghostly island history. Come face to face with lighthouse keepers, pirates and river pilots from the past. Cost is $25 for adults and $12 for children 12 and younger, reservations are required if you dare!
Howl at the Moon is an island tradition that takes place each month when the full moon rises out of the Atlantic Ocean. Get ready for the largest beach party on the island hosted by Maritime Market. Head to East Beach, Access 39 and BYOB. When the moon rises, the entire party breaks into a collective “howl” around the bonfire! After this free event, head up to Mojo’s for their “Moonrise to Midnight” bash!
Sipping a cocktail on the wrap around porch of your Bald Head Island vacation rental counting the stars is not a bad way to spend the evening either. Enjoy the sunshine during the day and a full schedule of fun after dark on Bald Head Island.
