Check Out 2017 Southern Living Idea House

The highly anticipated 2017 Southern Living Idea House opened to the public on June 16th on Bald Head Island at Cape Fear Station. This year Whitney Blair Custom Homes, winner of the 2016 Southern Living Custom Builder of the Year award, was chosen to collaborate with designer Eric Moser of Moser Design Group and interior designer, Lindsey Coral Harper based in New York City to complete the project.

The announcement of the Southern Living Idea Home for 2017 mimics that of a holiday,” says Jeff Leonard, Director of Sales for Bald Head Island Limited. From the amazing architecture and interior design of the home to the latest technology solutions, this year’s Idea House will inspire guests who participate in the home tour.  Furthermore, the completion of the Southern Living Idea Home coincides with the 200th birthday of the Old Baldy Lighthouse.  A portion of the proceeds generated from the Southern Living Idea House tours will go towards the preservation of the Old Baldy Foundation. This is the first year that the Southern Living Idea House has been built on an island. While there are several things that make this home special, Jeff Sanderson, Founder/President of Whitney Blair Custom Homes expresses that he was most excited about the fact that many of the interior finishes use all natural and reclaimed materials. The Idea House is located on a beautiful wooded lot in Cape Fear Station and sits just a short distance from the Southern Living Inspired Community, which currently has homes for sale.  

Southern Living has been working with teams of talented designers and creative builders for more than twenty years to bring the annual Southern Living Idea House to its readers.
