Father’s Day at Bald Head Island

Spending any holiday at beautiful Bald Head Island is enough of a treat but we are giving a few ideas to make it even more special for Dad this weekend.  

Many people can appreciate a great golf course and the Bald Head Island Club has award winning greens to make a perfect day out. If it ends up not being your best performance, you can at least take in the unique scenery as the course winds around lagoons and the maritime forest. Golfers have been known to even see deer and alligators hanging out. 

If you’d rather be out on the water, try a canoe ride or take a tour. Guided tours are available with BHI Conservancy experts through the creeks to help catch all the beauty of the Island. You could also take a paddleboard or surfboard out for a nice time on the waves.

A hike or bike ride could be the perfect way to finish your day. Tours are provided with a guide through marshes, the maritime forest and dunes by the Conservancy. Or enjoy the nice weather and view by taking a peaceful bike ride. Bike rentals are available locally with options of fitness bikes, tandem bikes, and kids’ bikes or baby joggers. 

There’s also croquet, swimming, fishing and more! Choose from a large selection of vacation rentals in great locations with ocean views, beach access, and wraparound porches to take it all in. We know Dad will be happy with any of these ideas as long as it’s in good company. Happy Father’s Day!
