Savor Your Off-Season Time on Bald Head Island

Let the vacationers scuttle back home. Autumn on Bald Head Island gets a bit slower, but still offers sunny and 70 degrees during the day and only a tad cooler at night. The restaurants may not be open as often, but they still offer up taste treats to make your off-season vacation sublime.

Delphina Cantina – 10 Marina Wynd, Bald Head Island

Casual, Mexican-inspired food and fresh local seafood. Delphina’s has a nice selection of tequilas and plenty of margarita and sangria styles. They also offer wine and beer. Autumn hours are Thursday – Sunday, 11am – 9pm. 

Sandpiper Coffee & Ice Cream - Get your java fix and a side of ice cream adjacent to Delphina Cantina. Autumn hours Monday – Friday are 7:30am to 5pm, staying open until 9pm on the weekends. 

Will o’ the Wisp – Order a Marina’s Pizza to-go, pick it up from Delphina’s, and settle in for a glass of wine at this relaxed bar. Gourmet popcorn and a well-curated list of wines, beers, and cocktails makes for a chill evening.

Maritime Market Café – 8 Maritime Way, Bald Head Island

A go-to on the island, Maritime Market is a grocery store that delivers, in more ways than one. Their café is open daily for breakfast and lunch and pizza is served until closing time. Off-season hours are 8am to 6pm Monday – Saturday and 8am to 2pm on Sunday.

Mojo’s on the Harbor – 10 Marina Wynd, Bald Head Island

A view of Old Baldy, Bald Head Island harbor, and tasty food awaits at Mojo’s. Signature seafood steam pots, salads, burgers, steaks, and pasta dishes alongside a full list of cocktails, wine, and beer. Autumn hours are Sunday – Wednesday 11:30am to 10pm and Thursday – Saturday 11:30am to 11:30pm. The kitchen takes orders until 9pm. No reservations required. 

Pelicatessan - 1 Saltmeadow Trail, Bald Head Island

Known as the “Peli,” this poolside, family-friendly venue serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and to-go orders. It’s part of the BHI Club, but is open to the public. Autumn hours are 7:30am – 8:00pm daily.

The Sweet Spot - #6B Merchants Row Bald Head Island

Made from premium ingredients (real butter only!), all of our goodies are made-from-scratch and baked fresh daily. Store menus include island favorites – Homemade Fudge, Coconut Blondies, Fudgy Brownies and buttery scones with daily features, like Blueberry Crumb Bars and Cinnamon Sugar Doughnuts.

Bald Head Island Club – 1 Saltmeadow Trail, Bald Head Island

The Peli is open to the public, and your vacation rental home may offer temporary guest membership to this private club, which offers two additional private dining venues:

The Palms/Palms Terrace, which is open for dinner and offers panoramic views, a fully stocked bar, and upscale pub-style food. Autumn hours are open every day at 5pm and closing Sunday and Tuesday at 7:30pm, Wednesday at 8:30pm, and Thursday – Saturday at 9pm. The Grill serves lunch and dinner daily with views of golfers and the occasional resident gator crossing the range. Autumn hours for lunch are Tuesday – Sunday 11:30am to 3pm. Open for dinner at 5pm every day, closing at 7pm on Sunday and Tuesday, 8pm on Wednesday, and 8:30pm Thursday – Saturday.

Shoals Club – 100 Station House Way, Bald Head Island

Located on the Point of Cape Fear with ocean views and fresh, local ingredients. A casual lounge offers a full bar and tapas-style fare. Your vacation rental home may extend you a temporary membership to this private club for a small fee.
