Island Taxi and Shuttle Launches Memorial Day

A new taxi and shuttle service using electrically-powered vehicles will be in operation on Bald Head Island by Memorial Day this year.

The “East Beach Shuttle” will operate from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., seven days a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Rates are $10 per person for a daily pass. The shuttle service begins and ends at Riverside Adventure Co., every hour on the half hour and stops at many points of interest along its route. For more information call 910-457-4944.

The “Island Time Taxi” is on call seven days a week from 6:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day. Rates range from $15 to $30. Call 910-599-0707 for service.

The businesses are owned and operated by longtime island property owner and entrepreneur Harper Peterson.
